A Survey on Quality of Service and Congestion Control

چکیده
Several techniques have been developed to meet the demand for faster and more efficient access to the Internet. Different applications have different networking requirements. For example, realtime interactive voice requires a low latency network path, but does not require high bandwidth. QoS refers to the ability of a network to provide improved service to selected network traffic over various underlying technologies including Frame Relay, SONET, and IP-routed networks. In particular, QoS features provide improved and more predictable network service by providing the following services: Supporting dedicated bandwidth, improving loss characteristics, avoiding and managing network congestion, shaping network traffic, setting traffic priorities across the network. This paper introduces various tcp protocol problems and their solution used in avoiding and managing network congestion. Keywords-Congestion Control, TCP, Traffic Control, QoS, Traffic Management

Congestion Control Approaches Applied to Wireless Sensor Networks: A Survey
Wireless Sensor Networks (WSNs) are a specific category of wireless ad-hoc networks where their performance is highly affected by application, life time, storage capacity, processing power, topology changes, the communication medium and bandwidth. These limitations necessitate an effective data transport control in WSNs considering quality of service, energy efficiency, and congestion control. ...

The real time delivery of multimedia content (Multimedia streaming) becomes a prominent field with the development of different networking technology and multimedia technology. Most of the applications such as video conferencing, visual telephone etc. need multimedia transmission techniques that send multimedia data from one end to another with enhanced efficiency, robustness and security. Mult...
متن کاملDesign of a Reliable Facility Location Model for Health Service Networks
This paper proposes a novel facility location model for health service network design by considering different key elements including the reliability aspects, service capacity, congestion, service quality, surrounding public infrastructures, geographical accessibility and several types of cost such as investment, transportation and operational costs. We formulate the problem as a robust scenari...
متن کاملSurvey of Error Recovery Techniques for IP- based Audio-Visual Multicast Applications
IP-based audio-visual multicast applications are gaining increasing interest since they can be realised using inexpensive network services that offer no guarantees for loss or delay. When using network services that do not guarantee the Quality of Service (QoS) required by audio-visual applications, the recovery from losses due to congestion in the network is a key problem that must be solved. ...
متن کاملTraffic congestion control using Smartphone sensors based on IoT Technology
Traffic congestion in road networks is one of the main issues to be addressed, also vehicle traffic congestion and monitoring has become one of the critical issues in road transport. With the help of Intelligent Transportation System (ITS), current information of traffic can be used by control room to improve the traffic efficiency. The suggested system utilize technologies for real-time collect...
متن کاملWiMAXCall Admission Control Protocols: A Survey
InWiMAXCall admission control (CAC) plays a vital role in providing the desired quality of service. It is such a provisioning strategy to limit the number of incoming connections into the networks in order to reduce the network congestion and call dropping. Over the last few years, a significant number of call admission control (CAC) schemes have been anticipated for WiMAXnetwork. In this paper,...
